British Tennis needs you!

British tennis is often criticised for having a coaching culture rather than a competitive culture. Coaches are vital but competition is where it’s at and we need to get more players particularly juniors competing. Too many players don’t get the opportunity to take part in local competitions; there simply aren’t enough organised competitions to meet demand.

We need a new breed of young volunteer competition organisers to increase the amount of local competition taking place across the country so why not get trained up as a competition organiser and get involved.

The training
Before you can start running competitions you will need to attend a 3 ½ hour training session. These courses are delivered locally by our team of Tennis Development Managers. Alongside the training you will be provided with a competition organisers toolkit which provides you with all the tools and resources you need to run competitions and a competition organisers t-shirt so the players know who you are!


Your role
Once trained you will be able to organise and run all types of competitions: from those that last a few hours to a two week event…the aim is to get more people competing and to improve the standard of competitions. A mini tennis competition at your local facility for 8 kids is a great place to start. Why not run a competition with a friend so you can support each other.
